Last year my sister and I started a new tradition/contest to see who could find the ugliest christmas ornament for each other. Last year she won hands down with this bronze tasseled monstrosity. I don't know where she found it but mine didn't even come close. Basically it was a large cotton ball comprised of pink, orange & white smaller cotton balls, it was a little more cute than ugly. (so cute I actually bought one for myself) I think when I suggested the 'ugly ornament contest' I was thinking more quirky/cute than ugly-ugly, clearly she was a bit more literal than I was.
So this year I was ready, I began scouting out every holiday section in every store I happened to be in as soon as they put it on the shelves. A high precedent had been set and I was determined to find the best of the worst. Only problem, I wasn't finding anything. I found this cute ball below, it wasn't exactly ugly but it was the best I could find....
And then a christmas miracle. I had a few gifts left to buy on the 23rd and by chance found this little guy. He's not too bad if you had an 'outdoor' themed tree I guess. He's actually a bit cuter in the photos than in person but I thought for sure I had her beat this year. For crying out loud it's an owl made out of pine cones, covered in fake snow & topped with glitter.......
.....and then she gave me the christmas pickle.....
It doesn't sign or play music, but it's a shiny, sparkly PICKLE. I clearly have to step up my game.....
