What a fun afternoon we had yesterday! There had to be at least double the amount of kids this year compared to last, there were so many people it was difficult to move around at times.
Nicole brought her adorable nephew Aidan up to hang out. He helped pass out candy and generally entertained us. Doesn't he have the most gorgeous eyes? If you see any photos of kiddos you know & love click here to purchase them. Have a safe & happy Halloween!

hello sunshine {photojournalistic photographer holly, michigan}

We have a real entrance for the studio!!! This morning where these beautiful, bright doors now are was an ugly, metal overhead garage door........so close!

free candy, goodies & pics {photojournalistic photographer holly, mi}

Bring the kids downtown this Saturday October 30th for trick-or-treating with the merchants. We'll have a super cute display out front for Halloween pics that will later be posted online for viewing & purchasing! We had a huge turn out last year, it was so much fun! See you Saturday....

let's get hitched {photojournalistic photographer, holly michigan}

.........in Holly!
We are looking forward to another record setting Ladies Night Out in downtown Holly on Friday November 12th, and Nicole & I thought what is a better way to celebrate her 1 year anniversary {how an entire year has gone by since she moved in is beyond me!} as well as the studio's new digs and expanded services {event planning} than with an intimate bridal show. We will each have a very select group of vendors in each of our spaces, ohhhh I wish I could share a few more details we have planned, but patience patience all in good time........suffice it to say they will be fantastic!!!

Be sure to check back for all the latest & greatest!!!

{last movie night of the season}

For throwing these movie nights together pretty much at the last minute they have been greatly successful! I'm a little sad that this Saturday {september 4th} will be our last for this year. We'd hoped to have one in October but it will just be too cold........But this Saturday we're showing the WIZARD of OZ, what a great way to welcome fall. So pack your lawn chairs and a few extra blankets {it got a wee bit chilly at our last movie} and we'll see you this Saturday on Battle Alley in downtown Holly.

I have to give a huge thank you to Nicole Kalil {something blue} & Nicole Kilpatrick {morgan's boutique} for helping bring movies to downtown Holly, we couldn't have done it without you ladies. We also need to acknowledge Kris, Nicole's husband for running the equipment and the Holly Area Community Coalition for co-sponsoring this event with the Holly DDA.

{audrey. audrey. audrey.}

It's movie night in downtown Holly this Saturday & we're showing Breakfast at Tiffany's. I thought I'd wet your appetite with some gorgeous stills of Ms. Audrey & some from the movie. The movie will begin at dusk {9ish} in Battle Alley. {they're calling for rain on saturday.....as long as it clears up by 5pm we're on!}

{reunion with a cause reminder}

Walk Time is 6pm - 10:30pm

We {team mahalo} will have hoola hoops and a limbo stick for the kids to play with as well as several items to raffle off. Jamie has a lovely L'Bri Basket, her father donated a handmade birdhouse & I am donating a studio gift certificate for one commission valued at $500.00!!!

The raffle tickets will be $2/each or 3 for $5 & will be sold at our tent until 9:20pm and the drawing will be announced at 9:30pm at the DJ booth. There will be lots of activities for the kids so there's no need to get a sitter. Hope to see many of you tomorrow!

{reunion with a cause}

One of the more vivid memories I have of my grandma Coale is my mother {her daughter-in-law} caring for her while she battled lung cancer. I won't go into details, it doesn't paint a very pretty picture. But I didn't get to have my grandparents for very long and a large part of the time I did they were sick. {3 of the 4 passed away, all from cancer, before I was 9}

And on Friday August 13th I will be thinking of my loved ones while I participate in The Reunion with a Cause. 100% of the funds raised go to cancer patients at Genesys Hospital to assist with treatment, transportation and other special needs not covered by insurance.

Now, how can you help? Well I'll tell ya. Join our team {we're still thinking of a name-feel free to email any great suggestions} & help raise money. Or if you'd like to donate we have luminary bags for sale, $10 each that you can decorate {or we can do it for you}. At the end of the night, once the sun has set there will be a luminary walk ceremony to honor those who have battled cancer.

Beyond the walk it promises to be a fun-filled night of family activities, refreshments & entertainment. Our yet to be named team will have a team meeting this Saturday {june 5th} at 2pm at the studio. Anyone who would like to join our team is welcome to drop by the studio tomorrow - 215 S. Saginaw St. Downtown Holly. {if you have any questions send the studio an email}

Here's the press release from Genesys if you'd like a few more details. I hope to see some of you tomorrow!

{ladies love free bags}

What a turn out we had for Ladies Night Out on Friday. Aside from a tornado the weather really couldn't have been worse, the closer it got to 5pm the darker the skies became. But we had a record turn out and considering it rained & HAILED on off the entire time we couldn't have asked for more.

{a few photos of the prep....tables lined up with items for the bags, nicole -from morgan's boutique- helped distribute the balloons. i love that she let me take a photo of her crazy static-y hair from the balloons. she braved the wind & had to untangle each set of balloons she delivered -over 100- & as a result has now developed a deep hatred for all balloons.}

{the studio before the masses descended...i should have photos of the ladies waiting in line but we were so busy there was no time for picture taking at that point. nicole -something blue- had a trunk show of local bridal accessory designer arbie goodlfellow.}

{and i had some yummy cake bites from the appetizer lady -jacqui blackwood-. well they looked yummy, they were gone in about 15 minutes. and i had to show the photo of my brother-in-law galon. he rode his bike (as in bicycle) downtown in the pouring rain to see what we've been working on for the last month. it's only a 3 minute ride but the dude was soaked.}

{and the last pic is angel & savanah, mother & daughter who braved the wind, rain & hail to check out our little event. they were so funny i told them i had to get a pic & add them to the blog post. angels whole left side is drenched because as she put it, she had to share the umbrella with her skinny daughter (who stayed dry) and only her right side was under the umbrella. they had us in stitches they were so funny. they left with savanah telling us, "we're like the osbournes only no one believes it. especially when we tell them my mom is a pastors wife.}

It was a great night! Thanks to everyone who braved the elements. I really need to thank Nicole Saunders, Nicole Kilpatrick & Holly Jablonski for all their hard work helping to organize this event. And a big thank you to my sister & mom as well as Sandra Klevin {holly chamber of commerce} for helping pass out bags! Ladies Night Out wouldn't have been the success it was without your help, thanks ladies!

.....some decorations in and around the studio for LOVE STRUCK......
{love the way the frozen hearts turned out, thanks cathy for freezing them & jenny for hanging them!} {love the way they glow in the evening light}
{the holes in the snow around the tree are from me climbing in it to get the shots of the ice hearts. nicole threatened to take a photo of me taking a photo of the hearts...i guess i looked pretty funny knee deep in snow, hunched under the tree. what i won't do to get a good shot!}
{paper lanterns lining the streets}
{nicole made very yummy cupcakes}
.....hope everyone has a very sweet valentines day.....

{valentines day}

Doesn't it sound fun to stroll a street lined in paper lanterns, with soft music playing, shop windows glowing in candle light & decorated in pinks & reds, grabbing a cup of hot chocolate to warm up with, enjoying a fine desert, picking up some valentines day gifts? Well, Valentines weekend in downtown Holly you can! Many shops will have later hours, sales, specials & treats {Nicole & I are thinking of maybe having chocolate covered strawberries & sparkling white grape juice}. So while you're out & about Valentines weekend take some time to relax & stroll through downtown Holly, you'll be pleasantly surprised with all we have to offer!

{lno}

It was hard to beat May's Ladies Night Out, but I think we did it.......the pink bags were a hit & all 300 had been passed out within 45 minutes! Quite a few people were turned away, we'll need to come up with another great giveaway for LNO May 2010.......

...there was quite a line for the bags...
...my friend Jamie & her cousin Sara are L'Bri skin care consultants and were in the studio to give our guests hand treatments...
...downtown looked great with the pink & white balloons and the lampposts decorated with pink lights...
